Habtoor & Ghantoot gain strength in Julius Baer Gold Cup

The qualification matches for the Dubai Open continued on Saturday at Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club.

The first match saw Dubai Wolves take an early 2-1 lead against Habtoor Polo. Goals from Hugo Lewis, Facundo Sola and Tommy Beresford quickly gave Habtoor the advantage. Early in the third chukka, patron Mohammed Al Habtoor scored a solid goal, in spite of Raja Abuljabain’s attempt to block the shot. Both teams scored consistently until the penultimate chukka, where Habtoor held their two-goal advantage. In the last chukker, Facu and Hugo both scored to seal the deal for Habtoor.

The second match between Ghantoot and Zedan was one-sided from the start. The game concluded 10 – 4 in favour of Ghantoot.
